Cognizant is looking for a Databricks Lead to drive the design, development, and optimization of data engineering solutions on Azure. This role demands deep expertise in Databricks and Azure Data Lake, strong ownership, and the ability to deliver independently while guiding technical direction and supporting enterprise analytics.
What You'll Do
- Lead architecture and development of scalable data solutions using Databricks and Azure Data Lake.
- Build and optimize PySpark pipelines and Databricks SQL workloads.
- Drive best practices for cluster management, CI/CD, governance, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Ensure security, compliance, and operational reliability across data platforms.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.
- Document architecture, patterns, and operational processes.
- Manage onsite / offshore coordination.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in an IT-related role.
- Expertise in Databricks (SQL, Notebooks, Workflows), PySpark, and Python.
- Proficiency with the Azure cloud stack, including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure DevOps.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, accountability, and ability to execute independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
