Responsibilities
- Lead database reliability initiatives with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery, meeting strict RPO and RTO objectives for critical financial systems.
- Develop and implement long-term scalability strategies, including data partitioning, sharding, and capacity planning to support growing system demands.
- Conduct in-depth performance analysis to optimize SQL queries, interpret execution plans, and resolve system bottlenecks proactively.
- Design and maintain scalable database infrastructure, including connection pooling with PgBouncer and automated backup and restore workflows.
- Create comprehensive monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and VictoriaMetrics, and define service-level indicators and objectives for database health.
- Enforce stringent security protocols aligned with banking standards, covering secure credential handling and compliance-focused data management.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to guide schema design and architectural choices that support high-throughput environments.
- Elevate the database engineering function by mentoring team members, establishing technical standards, and contributing directly to system implementation.
