Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle database operations such as backups, recovery, monitoring, health assessments, capacity forecasting, version releases, lifecycle tracking, and documentation to ensure systems remain stable, available, and aligned with business needs.
- Enhance database reliability and efficiency through query optimization, index tuning, schema evaluation, workload inspection, slow query diagnosis, and root cause analysis during production issues.
- Enforce data security policies by managing access controls, reviewing privileges, maintaining audit trails, applying encryption, implementing data masking, addressing vulnerabilities, and upholding security standards.
- Sustain and routinely verify backup, restore, and disaster recovery mechanisms, including RPO/RTO definitions, recovery testing, multi-region replication, failover exercises, and emergency response protocols.
- Design and deploy solutions for database migration, scaling, sharding, read/write separation, high availability, and distributed data architectures to support mission-critical services.
