Deckers Brands is hiring a Data Visualization Engineer 5 - Content & Studio to build and maintain data storytelling products. As a Visualization Engineer on the Tools & Insights team, you'll own the user experience and data visualizations for content reporting, creating performant applications that serve as company-wide sources of truth.
What You'll Do
- Build beautiful web apps focused on data explanation and exploration.
- Own the user experience and data visualizations for content reporting.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to develop creative solutions to user problems.
- Make complex data intuitive to a broad audience.
- Iterate on interfaces based on user feedback and research.
- Work on some of the most used internal tools at Netflix, bringing together multiple data sources, metrics, and predictive analytics.
- Partner closely with R&D teams to bring new metrics, models, and data sources to Netflix.
What We're Looking For
- Passionate about building beautiful web apps focused on data explanation and exploration.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with Node.js.
- Experience working with a component framework like React or Vue.js.
- Comfortable with D3 and/or other visualization libraries.
- Self-directed and enjoy owning projects.
- Focused on making data useful to a wide variety of users.
- Knowledgeable about trade-offs between different chart types.
- Passionate about designing, building, and iterating on interfaces.
- Experienced in working with data from a variety of sources, including API endpoints and relational databases.
- Motivated to explore new technologies and comfortable with self-directed learning.
- Familiar with working with data-centric teams on metrics and analytics, and have basic statistical knowledge and intuition.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with design prototyping tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
