Company is hiring a Data Scientist to analyze and model operational, economic, and organizational data to quantify competitive performance and evaluate strategic changes. You will leverage machine learning and predictive modeling to design new approaches and build models that directly support key business objectives.

What You'll Do

Leverage machine learning and predictive modeling across a variety of problem domains and business initiatives.
Build predictive models to support business partner objectives and needs.
Manipulate and investigate large, complex datasets, formulating data requirements and model specifications.
Work closely with business partners and domain experts to identify critical questions and new opportunities.
Develop problem definition, analytical approach, and research design for modeling projects.
Participate in selecting research tools and technologies, designing common research processes, and brainstorming opportunities.
Research and maintain awareness of industry best practices and business strategies.
Proactively bring new and innovative ideas and approaches to develop the business.

What We're Looking For

Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively.
Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis.
Familiarity with version control for software development.
Demonstrated experience using large amounts of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Experience formulating, approaching, analyzing, and solving problems on massive datasets.
Solid knowledge managing data at scale using data summarization, query, and analysis software and tools.

Nice to Have

Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or other quantitative discipline.
Business experience in statistical modeling, data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and applying database queries.
P&C Insurance experience.
Knowledge of Machine Learning and Statistical methods and experience applying them to business problems.
Experience deploying and maintaining real-time model scoring services.
Ability to extract and clean data from a variety of structured and unstructured sources.
Solid understanding of best practices in coding, code organization, data transformation, imputation, model selection, evaluation, and tuning.
Experience with Gradient Boosted and Bayesian models.
Experience with GCP or cloud architecture.
Proficiency in programming in Python and SQL.
Knowledge of Go, Java, or Scala.
Knowledge of one version control system (Git).
Experience working in the insurance industry.
