Responsibilities
- Develop and manage scalable data infrastructure and pipelines for efficient data processing
- Retrieve data from varied and complex source systems
- Construct and oversee data storage repositories
- Build data workflows to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into centralized systems
- Work closely with analytics engineers and other teams to align infrastructure with business needs
- Enable data-centric projects and strategic organizational decisions
- Write advanced SQL queries to transfer data from sources such as flat files, databases, JSON, and XIS files into data platforms
- Develop reconciliation methods to verify complete and accurate data loading into the operational data store
- Implement error detection, handling, and logging mechanisms within data environments
- Partner with analytics engineers and data stewards to assess data needs and target integration improvements
- Design and deploy integration solutions, including API-based and file-based data transfers
- Track system performance, diagnose issues, and communicate resolution status to relevant teams
- Collaborate with analytics engineers to validate correct data ingestion into data platforms
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers
- Optimize systems for improved reliability and performance
- Establish data quality controls and governance practices to maintain compliance and data integrity
- Maintain a focus on stakeholder needs and deliver solutions with a customer-first approach
