PadSplit is hiring a Data Engineer (Fully Remote)

Responsibilities

• Open and merge pull requests for new or updated Dagster jobs, assets, schedules, sensors, and dbt models, tests, and documentation.
• Write occasional Terraform for secrets, environment variables, or job sizing when required by a pipeline.
• Build and debug Python pipelines for REST/API syncs, large Postgres extracts, Parquet loads, and Snowflake COPY operations.
• Configure or troubleshoot Airbyte connections where managed sync is appropriate.
• Monitor production runs and investigate failures related to IAM, out-of-memory errors, Spot instances, or incorrect watermarks.
• Execute backfills and incremental catch-ups, providing clear documentation of what was loaded and why.
• Collaborate with analytics and product teams on dimension, fact, and cross-fact table design, incremental strategies, and data quality.
• Participate in code reviews, release preparation, and write concise runbooks to enable others to operate pipelines in your absence.

Compensation

$150,000 - $165,000 a year. Compensation is based on the role's scope, national market benchmarks, the person's expertise and experience, and the impact of their contributions to our business goals.

Work Arrangement

Remote (Worldwide) — Atlanta, Georgia

The Interview Process

• Your application will be reviewed for possible next steps by a real human being from the PeopleOps team.
• If you meet eligibility requirements, the next step would be a video interview with a member of the PeopleOps team for about thirty minutes.
• If warranted, the next step would be a video interview with our Principal Data Scientist for forty-five minutes.
• If warranted, the next step would be a video panel interview with key stakeholders at PadSplit for one and a half hours.
• If warranted, the next and final step would be a video interview with a key leader in the company for thirty minutes.
• If warranted, we move to offer!
