About the Role

The Data Engineer will design, implement, and manage data pipelines and infrastructure using Microsoft Azure technologies. This role requires strong technical expertise in cloud-based data solutions and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable data platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval performance across cloud environments
  • Implement data integration workflows from multiple source systems
  • Support the development of ETL processes with monitoring and error handling
  • Maintain documentation for data architecture and transformation logic
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in production environments
  • Ensure data security and compliance with organizational standards
  • Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and use cases
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering practices
  • Participate in code reviews and system design discussions
  • Integrate data from structured and unstructured sources
  • Develop and manage metadata frameworks
  • Support testing and validation of data solutions
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimizations
  • Assist in migration of on-premise data systems to Azure
  • Apply version control to data infrastructure code
  • Collaborate on data modeling efforts for reporting and analytics
  • Use PowerShell or CLI tools for automation tasks
  • Follow agile methodologies in project execution
  • Stay current with Azure service updates and new features
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
  • Work with identity and access management for data resources
  • Support data quality initiatives and validation rules
  • Participate in incident response related to data systems

Nice to Have

  • Certification in Microsoft Azure data technologies
  • Experience with Databricks or Azure ML
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices in data projects
  • Exposure to big data frameworks like Spark
  • Experience with Terraform or infrastructure as code
  • Background in financial or healthcare data domains
  • Familiarity with data mesh or data fabric concepts
  • Knowledge of real-time data streaming platforms
  • Experience with Power BI integration
  • Understanding of data lineage tools
