At Visa, we leverage data to power global commerce and create impact at scale. We are seeking a Senior Consultant - Data Engineer to be responsible for the architecture, design, and development of data-driven business solutions. You will build our Data Lake and create resilient data pipelines that serve critical reporting and data science/ML use cases.

What You'll Do

Own the architecture, design, and development of our data solutions.
Iteratively develop new products by building quick POCs and converting ideas into real products.
Develop workflows and ETL/ELT code using Hive scripts, Spark, and other utilities on Hadoop.
Build analytical applications using the Hadoop ecosystem and open source technologies.
Construct resilient data pipelines for reporting and data science/ML use cases.
Interact with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet requirements, applying the latest tools.
Have a passion for delivering zero-defect code and ensure the team's deliverables meet prescribed defect SLAs.
Present technical solutions in business terms and communicate status, issues, and risks clearly and timely.
Perform other tasks on R&D, data governance, data security, and system infrastructure as needed.

What We're Looking For

9+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 2+ years with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Nice to Have

Masters or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum of 9 years of experience building data-driven solutions and solving data problems.
Minimum of 4 years of experience building large-scale data solutions using open source technologies.
Strong design and coding skills with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on expertise with Java, Scala, or Python.
Experience with highly distributed, scalable, concurrent systems and database technologies such as DB2, MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, or data warehouses like HBase.
Experience with Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins and Artifactory.
Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools like Power BI.
Experience with Databricks, clickhouse, or Microsoft Fabric is advantageous.
