Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Champion new approaches and technologies, leveraging AI to optimize data processes and generate deeper insights.
  • Partner closely with internal and business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translating requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Manage competing demands and strategically prioritize projects to deliver maximum business value.
  • Guarantee the performance, reliability, and scalability of our data systems through rigorous testing and maintenance.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as a data engineer, with a proven track record of building and maintaining production-grade data systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with cloud-based Big Data platforms like Google BigQuery.
  • Expertise in data modeling and developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines using tools like dbt.
  • Experience with workflow management engines such as Airflow.
  • Use Terraform/AWS CloudFormation to manage and automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, with a strong preference for Python.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Develop and implement solutions to scrape and extract data from various sources and transform it into a usable format.
  • Previous experience in the travel, digital, or e-commerce industries.
  • A strong understanding of data analysis principles and how to apply them to improve business outcomes.
