Responsibilities
- Direct daily security operations for construction sites, aligning with company standards, contractual obligations, and project demands.
- Supervise third-party security providers, ensuring adherence to performance, staffing, training, and reporting expectations.
- Create, enforce, and refine security policies, post instructions, SOPs, and related procedures for construction environments.
- Collaborate with construction, safety, operations, commissioning, and other internal teams to adapt security measures as project needs evolve.
- Provide oversight for high-risk construction activities such as gate control, deliveries, equipment storage, temporary perimeters, hot work, and infrastructure protection.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols, access controls, badging, and site rules among workers, contractors, vendors, and visitors; initiate corrective actions when needed.
- Respond to security events including alarms, protests, theft, trespassing, and unauthorized access, ensuring proper escalation, documentation, and resolution.
- Report technical issues with security systems to relevant leads and integrators for timely resolution and system restoration.
- Perform regular audits and inspections of physical security, procedures, and guard performance to identify weaknesses and promote improvements.
- Support access and visitor management, vehicle and equipment screening, key control, patrols, incident reporting, emergency response, and handover to operational security standards.
- Keep detailed records of incidents, audits, compliance data, and performance metrics, and report security status and risks to leadership.
- Foster a culture of security awareness through leadership presence, communication, training reinforcement, and consistent enforcement.
- Establish strong working relationships with project leads, law enforcement, site managers, and partner teams to integrate security into daily workflows.
- Assist in investigations of security breaches, policy violations, theft, vandalism, or workplace safety concerns, ensuring proper documentation and escalation.
- Identify vulnerabilities in processes, contracts, or infrastructure and recommend practical improvements for protection and compliance.
- Maintain a secure construction environment with effective access controls, guard operations, incident response, and asset protection.
- Ensure consistent execution of security operations including staffing, gate management, patrols, badging, delivery screening, and alarm handling.
- Develop collaborative relationships with construction, EHS, operations, vendors, and law enforcement to support project progress without compromising security.
- Proactively detect risks and ensure follow-through on corrective actions, audits, investigations, and compliance enforcement.
- Promote accountability, professionalism, and preparedness through training, adherence to procedures, and structured handover to permanent security standards.
- Continuously improve security practices throughout the project lifecycle to achieve industry-leading protection and readiness.
