Responsibilities
- Define and implement the enterprise data architecture strategy on Snowflake, including technical standards, integration approaches, and organizational best practices.
- Design and formalize a multi-tier data architecture (Staging, Conformed, Marts) with standardized modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling, Data Vault, and handling of slowly changing dimensions for healthcare data.
- Develop schema designs and data integration plans for diverse healthcare sources, including electronic medical records systems, medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility data, and value-based care performance indicators.
- Create and maintain Snowflake platform standards covering performance optimization, warehouse configuration, cost controls, role-based access, zero-copy cloning, and time travel features.
- Work closely with data engineering teams to define reusable frameworks using dbt, Python, and workflow orchestration tools, ensuring adherence to scalable patterns, testing rigor, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with security and compliance units to enforce HIPAA requirements, protect sensitive data through masking, implement row and column security, and ensure full data lineage and cataloging.
- Serve as the lead technical decision-maker for data projects, guiding sprint planning, leading design reviews, and mentoring engineers in advanced SQL, modeling, and system architecture.
- Engage with analytics, clinical, and product teams to understand operational needs, assess technical tradeoffs, and convert complex business requirements into sustainable data architectures.
