About the Role
Leads incident response operations for government-compliant and commercial environments by monitoring, triaging, and resolving security incidents. Conducts log analysis, leverages tools such as Elastic and CrowdStrike, performs threat hunting, and supports strategic incident response projects during low-activity periods to protect software, hardware, and supply chain integrity.
Responsibilities
- Monitor systems and networks continuously to detect potential security breaches affecting the organization, its products, or customers
- Detect and assess security vulnerabilities using standardized risk evaluation frameworks such as CVSS
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance standards including NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171, with emphasis on FedRAMP and CONUS environments
- Conduct security audits, risk assessments, network forensics, and penetration testing to minimize exposure to threats
- Analyze malware and perform reverse engineering to build structured incident response procedures
- Develop comprehensive plans covering security gap evaluations, policies, response playbooks, training programs, and tabletop exercises
- Create communication protocols for reporting security incidents to customers, internal teams, and law enforcement agencies
- Respond to and resolve security breaches promptly based on severity and provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders
