Kimley-Horn is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the enterprise firewall infrastructure, covering architecture, deployment, and continuous improvement
  • Develop, evaluate, and update firewall rules and policies for on-premises and cloud networks
  • Lead strategic decisions on firewall policies, network segmentation, and performance optimization
  • Operate and fine-tune Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama management platform
  • Maintain and improve GlobalProtect configurations for secure remote connectivity
  • Evaluate and deploy access control lists, rule sets, and security policies in multi-vendor environments
  • Enhance firewall security posture while ensuring minimal impact on user productivity
  • Support and optimize Next-Generation Firewalls within Azure cloud platforms
  • Manage and tune Web Application Firewalls to protect critical applications
  • Engage in discussions on SASE frameworks and cloud security architecture
  • Deploy and maintain network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls
  • Diagnose and resolve complex security and networking issues in hybrid and cloud environments
  • Monitor and address network performance problems including latency, throughput, and system responsiveness
  • Collaborate with Network Operations and Cloud teams to integrate security into network designs
  • Help assess and deploy Network Detection and Response (NDR) tools
  • Support migration and management of Cisco ISE capabilities
  • Contribute to long-term planning, standards, and selection of security technologies
  • Coordinate security initiatives across cross-functional IT teams
  • Provide expert guidance, training, and mentorship on secure network practices
  • Respond to security incidents, manage changes, and support after-hours maintenance for urgent events
