Kentro is looking for a Customer Service Engineer to provide onsite and remote IT support for the VA-ESOM contract. You'll be the on-the-ground expert at the VA facility, responding to end-user requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and performing system administration tasks for VA employees and contractors.
What You'll Do
- Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot computer systems and equipment.
- Deliver remote and desk-side technical support, respond to IT support tickets, and perform diagnostic and repair activities.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, interface with software applications, compile reports, and respond to customer requests.
- Maintain Active Directory and other system accounts, support connectivity and client applications, and assist in configuring local and wide area network services.
- Monitor open tickets in VA's ServiceNow system to ensure process adherence and report discrepancies.
- Utilize debugging protocols and processes to troubleshoot problems identified by customers.
- Facilitate equipment returns, deployments, unboxing, inventorying, and verification.
- Handle physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, climbing, and crawling.
- Stand and move throughout the work area for prolonged periods.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline OR 8 years of additional relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in IT Technical Support, Help Desk, or System Administration.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
- US Citizen or Green card holder.
- Willing and able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance.
- Must meet updated ID requirements as specified by GSA.
Nice to Have
- Experience conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs.
- Knowledge of debugging protocols and processes.
- Adept knowledge in IT principles and practices, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and a basic understanding of system administration in a Windows environment.
