About the Role

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end credentialing process for healthcare providers, ensuring timely and accurate submission of documentation to insurance panels and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Verify provider qualifications, licenses, and certifications
  • Submit and track applications for insurance panel participation
  • Communicate with providers to collect required documentation
  • Maintain accurate records within credentialing databases
  • Follow up with insurance carriers on application status
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Respond to audits or credentialing-related inquiries
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support provider onboarding
  • Monitor renewal timelines and initiate re-credentialing
  • Resolve discrepancies in provider documentation
  • Stay current with payer-specific credentialing requirements
  • Support the development of process improvements
  • Assist in onboarding training for new team members
  • Manage high volumes of credentialing cases efficiently
  • Ensure timely completion of delegated credentialing tasks

Nice to Have

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) credential
  • Experience with cloud-based EHR or practice management systems
  • Background in telehealth or digital health platforms
  • Prior work in fast-paced startup environments
