Turner & Townsend is hiring a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction (Heavy Civil)

About the Role

The role involves managing cost planning, procurement, and financial reporting for large-scale data center infrastructure projects with a focus on civil works. The individual will support project delivery by providing accurate cost analysis and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost estimation and budgeting for heavy civil components of data center developments
  • Prepare and review detailed quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Monitor project expenditures and track financial performance against forecasts
  • Support tender evaluation and contractor bid analysis for civil scope packages
  • Develop and maintain cost control systems and reporting dashboards
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve design-cost conflicts
  • Ensure compliance with contractual cost reporting obligations
  • Manage change order assessments and variation cost impacts
  • Provide cost risk assessments during project planning phases
  • Assist in final account reconciliations with contractors
  • Coordinate with procurement teams on material and subcontract buyouts
  • Maintain up-to-date cost databases for civil works
  • Deliver cost advice during design development stages
  • Track schedule impacts on cost baselines
  • Support value engineering initiatives to optimize civil construction solutions
  • Review progress claims and certify payments in line with work completed
  • Prepare cost forecasts and cash flow projections
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • Work closely with site teams to validate installed works
  • Ensure consistency between design changes and cost adjustments
  • Conduct benchmarking against industry standards for civil construction
  • Assist in dispute resolution related to cost and contract terms
  • Maintain documentation for audit and compliance purposes
  • Interface with client representatives on cost-related matters
  • Contribute to lessons learned processes for future projects
