Role Overview
The Controller is responsible for leading financial operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. This role ensures the integrity of financial data, oversees key accounting functions, and supports organizational decision-making through reliable reporting and analysis. Working directly with senior leadership, the Controller helps shape financial strategy while maintaining rigorous standards across internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to deliver timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly internal and external statements
- Safeguard the accuracy and organization of transactional records and corporate financial data
- Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure consistency and timeliness in vendor payments
- Supervise accounts receivable activities, including billing, credit management, and cash application, to maintain healthy cash flow
- Stay current with federal, state, and organizational financial regulations and accounting standards
- Lead budget preparation by gathering financial data, identifying variances, and providing analytical insights
- Manage fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Coordinate internal and external audits to verify financial accuracy and compliance
- Monitor cash positions and support effective working capital management
- Ensure tax filings at federal, state, and local levels are completed accurately and on time in collaboration with tax advisors
- Apply advanced knowledge of accounting software to strengthen internal controls and implement automation improvements
- Support special projects and generate customized reports through data collection, analysis, and summarization
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience enforcing financial policies and procedures
- Proven ability to produce accurate and timely financial reports
- Strong organizational skills in managing transactional data and corporate records
- Experience processing accounts payable and managing accounts receivable functions
- Familiarity with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting
- Knowledge of fixed asset and depreciation management
- Experience overseeing audit processes and evaluating financial health
- Ability to manage cash flow and support financial planning
- Track record ensuring compliance with tax regulations and coordinating with tax professionals
- Proficiency with accounting software systems to support control frameworks and process efficiency
- Experience compiling analytical reports from financial data
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or experience in manufacturing or industrial operations, enabling effective collaboration across departments
Work Environment
