Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage industrial control systems involving PLCs, DCS, OT networks, cybersecurity, and communications infrastructure to enhance system reliability.
- Improve and sustain plant-level automation systems through ongoing maintenance and upgrades.
- Lead small-scale projects focused on modernizing control systems and advancing automation capabilities.
- Program, debug, and fine-tune PLC and DCS platforms for optimal performance.
- Conduct testing, revisions, and validation of PLC and DCS logic to ensure correct operation.
- Integrate third-party equipment into existing mining process control environments.
- Identify and resolve faults in instrumentation and control systems, including component-level diagnostics when necessary.
- Work alongside instrument and control technologists to detect system constraints and increase efficiency.
- Partner with corporate IT, OT, and process control groups to deliver integrated solutions.
- Uphold site-specific standards for control hardware, instrumentation, and electronic parts.
- Keep comprehensive records, configurations, and operational procedures in line with cybersecurity and reliability protocols.
- Ensure all industrial control systems meet corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary technical contact and expert for major industrial control system installations and design efforts.
- Evaluate current safety protocols and recommend or execute enhancements.
- Support internal audits, inspections, and root cause analyses following incidents.
Work Arrangement
On-site — Saskatoon, Prince Albert

- Work schedule follows a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation.
- Daily shifts last 11 hours.
- Position is fly-in/fly-out, based at remote site.
- Round-trip flights between Saskatoon and Prince Albert are provided.
