About the Role
The Contracts Engineer will manage procurement processes, support contract administration, and coordinate with project teams to ensure contractual obligations are met efficiently and in compliance with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer contracts throughout all project phases
- Support procurement activities including bid evaluations
- Review and analyze vendor proposals and pricing
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Maintain contract documentation and records
- Assist in risk assessment for procurement decisions
- Coordinate with legal and project teams on contract matters
- Track contract performance and milestones
- Monitor change management processes within contracts
- Prepare reports on contract status and financial exposure
- Facilitate communication between contractors and project staff
- Identify opportunities for cost savings in procurement
- Support dispute resolution processes when required
- Ensure adherence to project schedule through contract oversight
- Assist in developing contract strategies for major procurements
- Evaluate contractor performance against contractual KPIs
- Maintain a register of all active contracts and amendments
- Provide input on contract closeout procedures
- Work closely with engineering and construction teams
- Ensure consistency in contract language across procurements
- Assist in developing scopes of work for tenders
- Monitor insurance and bonding requirements
- Support audit readiness for contract-related documentation
- Apply project controls principles to contract management
- Promote ethical procurement and contracting practices
