About the Role
Design and implement robust features for a content-rich platform used in classrooms, working closely with product and design teams to deliver impactful learning experiences through technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core features of a web-based educational content platform
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in a collaborative environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Optimize application performance and reliability for high-traffic usage
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production systems
- Support the evolution of engineering standards, tools, and processes
- Contribute to architectural decisions and system scalability planning
- Work with data teams to integrate analytics and usage insights
- Ensure accessibility and usability standards are met in product development
- Engage in agile development cycles with iterative delivery
- Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
- Evaluate new technologies and frameworks for potential integration
- Maintain awareness of educational technology trends and user needs
- Collaborate on API design for internal and external integrations
- Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines
- Participate in defining product requirements and technical specifications
- Ensure alignment between engineering output and curriculum goals
- Contribute to documentation for systems and processes
- Respond to feedback from educators and students using the platform
- Help maintain system security and data privacy practices
- Work on features that adapt content to different reading levels
- Improve search and content recommendation functionality
- Support mobile-responsive design across devices
- Assist in monitoring system health and incident response
Nice to Have
- Experience in educational software or publishing platforms
- Familiarity with text annotation or document editing tools
- Knowledge of natural language processing concepts
- Experience with React or similar UI libraries
- Background in accessibility standards such as WCAG
- Exposure to internationalization and localization practices
