Mercedes-Benz Group AG is looking for a Connectivity Architect to own and define the T-Box system and connectivity architecture specifically for the China market. You will be responsible for creating robust, secure, and compliant solutions that integrate local market needs with global requirements, driving technical leadership for both current projects and future platform direction.
What You'll Do
- Define and maintain future-proof T-Box system and connectivity architecture for current and future vehicle generations.
- Lead protocol strategy, T-Box OTA/FOTA/SOTA, and T-Box system feature concepts like diagnostic, flashing, and power modes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and functional safety in all architecture deliverables, balancing technological advantage and cost.
- Work with industry partners, regulation working groups, China stakeholders, and global teams to align on strategy, synergy, and concept reuse.
- Guide suppliers, partners, and internal teams on technical solutions, issue resolution, and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in T-Box, connected vehicle, telematics, or adjacent ECU architecture.
- 5+ years as a system/solution architect or technical lead.
- Proven record of delivering a T-Box SOP program in China.
- Deep knowledge of in-vehicle networks, connectivity stack, OTA, cybersecurity, diagnostics, regulatory/homologation, and data privacy.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Strong cross-functional communication and leadership skills.
- In-depth understanding of in-vehicle networks (CAN/CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, DoIP, SOME/IP, UDS), connectivity stack (LTE/5G, GNSS, eSIM/eUICC, TCP/IP, TLS, MQTT/HTTP/2), and OTA (FOTA/SOTA) concepts.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity (secure boot, key management, HSM/TEE, ISO/SAE 21434), functional safety (ISO 26262), and regulatory/homologation requirements (China and global).
- Experience with diagnostics, logging, and data privacy (PIPL, GDPR).
- Experience with RF technologies (4G/5G cellular, WiFi, Nearlink, Satellite communication).
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Exposure to global projects is a plus.
