About the Role

The technician will inspect, troubleshoot, and refurbish computer hardware to prepare it for redeployment. This role requires attention to detail, technical aptitude, and adherence to workflow procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming computer systems for physical and functional issues
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems using standardized tools
  • Replace or repair defective components such as memory, drives, and power supplies
  • Install and configure operating systems and essential software
  • Perform data wiping and security resets on storage devices
  • Test system functionality after repairs and configuration
  • Document repair history and inventory status for each unit
  • Follow safety protocols when handling electronic components
  • Organize and maintain workstations and equipment
  • Adhere to quality control checklists before device release
  • Update asset tracking databases with accurate device information
  • Package devices for shipping according to company guidelines
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior staff when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of technical workspace
  • Follow environmental guidelines for disposal of non-repairable parts
  • Support team goals through collaboration and timely task completion
  • Stay current with internal process updates and technical training
  • Use hand tools safely and appropriately during repairs
  • Verify network connectivity and peripheral compatibility
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy standards
  • Respond to internal requests for customized system setups
  • Follow escalation procedures for warranty-related repairs
  • Maintain accurate logs of parts usage and replacements
  • Assist with inventory audits and equipment staging
  • Support sustainability goals by maximizing device reuse
