Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of all corporate safety and health initiatives.
- Create and manage the facility’s SharePoint site for safety-related documentation and communication.
- Maintain consistent communication with the corporate safety leadership team.
- Support investigations into near misses, first aid incidents, recordable injuries, and lost-time cases as outlined in corporate policy.
- Collaborate with regional fleet safety leadership on vehicle accident investigations.
- Analyze injury data to identify trends and create corrective action plans.
- Ensure leadership is regularly updated on safety and health concerns within the facility’s operations.
- Work closely with occupational health nursing staff to foster collaboration between safety and medical teams.
- Maintain a visible presence in production areas and other site locations.
- Perform routine safety and health inspections and ensure all findings are resolved.
- Submit monthly safety performance metrics to corporate by required deadlines.
- Participate in workers’ compensation management, including claim meetings, documentation, and coordination with medical and third-party administrators.
- Support training delivery and verify all required monthly safety training is completed on schedule.
- Oversee site security operations to safeguard personnel, visitors, contractors, and company assets.
- Serve as the primary contact during visits by external agencies conducting audits or inspections.
- Oversee the safety department budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities in training, travel, and protective equipment.
- Act as the facility representative for property insurance matters and ensure compliance with FM Global standards during new construction projects.
- Engage with local healthcare providers to align understanding of OSHA recordkeeping and return-to-work protocols.
