Responsibilities
- Lead on-site commissioning efforts for all mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, acting as the primary field authority on large-scale data center projects
- Manage end-to-end commissioning phases, including pre-functional checks, performance testing, and integrated systems validation, aligned with project timelines and owner criteria
- Oversee startup sequences and energization of critical mechanical infrastructure such as chillers, cooling units, pumps, HVAC, and electrical systems including switchgear, UPS, and backup generators
- Partner with commissioning agents, contractors, design teams, and client representatives, using firsthand owner-side experience to align deliverables with expectations and avoid delays
- Perform detailed field inspections, installation verifications, and quality audits to ensure adherence to design documents, technical specs, and commissioning standards
- Develop and maintain six-week lookahead schedules and constraint logs through joint planning with trade partners to identify and resolve upstream issues early
- Monitor real-time progress of MEP systems and commissioning activities, tracking deficiencies and corrective actions with full visibility to QA/QC and leadership
- Facilitate regular coordination meetings with stakeholders, delivering clear updates on commissioning status, risks, and mitigation strategies
- Promote lean construction methods and visual management tools such as takt boards, zone mapping, and pull planning to sustain workflow efficiency across multi-system testing
- Coordinate with the Commissioning Site Manager to resolve work interferences, scheduling conflicts, and cross-trade dependencies
- Enforce strict compliance with performance, quality, productivity, and safety standards, fostering a culture of zero incidents on site
