Kirby Group Engineering is hiring a Commercial Lead - Power & Renewables | Inverurie

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all commercial functions within the Power & Renewables division
  • Enhance revenue, profit margins, and cash flow through rigorous cost oversight and reporting
  • Design and deploy commercial frameworks that align with divisional and corporate objectives
  • Improve commercial understanding and performance across project teams
  • Guide commercial strategy during bidding, proposal development, and project selection
  • Manage negotiations from tender through contract finalization and project execution
  • Analyze contractual terms to ensure compliance and safeguard organizational interests
  • Assess and address financial, schedule, and commercial risks
  • Support end-to-end project delivery from initial bid to final account settlement
  • Monitor project cost controls, reporting accuracy, and commercial governance
  • Conduct project audits to verify data integrity, compliance, and opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, planning, and quantity surveying departments
  • Identify and oversee contractual and commercial risks across the business unit
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and escalate critical issues with actionable recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality assurance procedures, and commercial standards
  • Maintain detailed records and audit-ready documentation to support business decisions
  • Assist in managing key client contracts and framework agreements from a commercial perspective
  • Contribute to expanding the Power & Renewables project portfolio across the UK and Ireland
  • Partner with leadership to define long-term market and commercial direction
  • Lead, coach, and grow the commercial team within the business unit
  • Foster a culture of high performance and ongoing operational improvement
  • Support structured learning and professional development initiatives
  • Oversee commercial terms, responsibilities, and payments for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Drive process efficiency through lean methodologies and continuous optimization
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive commercial reporting
