Responsibilities
- Manage and support live AWS environments spanning multiple accounts.
- Ensure reliability and performance of core AWS components such as EC2, networking, storage, IAM, and related infrastructure services.
- Support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) instances on EC2 hosting application and platform layers.
- Handle operating system lifecycle tasks including patching, hardening, and configuration management for Linux servers.
- Implement and maintain patching and configuration automation using Ansible.
- Support the OpenShift container platform hosted on AWS EC2 instances.
- Monitor and resolve issues with OpenShift cluster nodes, networking, storage, and workloads.
- Assist with cluster lifecycle operations such as node updates, upgrades, and configuration adjustments.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure containerized applications perform efficiently and reliably.
- Diagnose and resolve issues affecting cluster health, resource allocation, scheduling, and networking.
- Monitor AWS and OpenShift environments using CloudWatch and centralized observability tools.
- Track performance of nodes, containers, and platform components.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure problems involving compute, networking, storage, container runtime, and access controls.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
- Maintain and enhance Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Use Ansible for system configuration management and automation of operational changes.
- Minimize manual interventions by placing existing infrastructure under version control.
- Deploy changes through controlled CI/CD pipelines and formal change processes.
- Enforce security and governance policies across AWS accounts.
- Manage IAM roles, policies, and implement least-privilege access principles.
- Automate security baselines and configuration standards using Ansible where applicable.
- Support compliance audits, security assessments, and regulatory reviews.
- Manage logs for operational troubleshooting, security monitoring, and compliance purposes.
- Keep infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and runbooks accurate and up to date.
- Perform routine cleanup to maintain clean, consistent, and manageable environments.
