Responsibilities
- Assess third-party libraries, tools, and services for fit and effectiveness
- Lead execution of complex cloud initiatives and engineering deliverables for client engagements
- Investigate technical challenges and document findings and resolution paths
- Apply diverse frameworks and analytical methods to identify root causes, pain points, and risks
- Advance cloud-native design patterns including IoT back-ends, serverless systems, and automated delivery pipelines
- Innovate within event-driven system architectures to improve responsiveness and scalability
- Actively contribute to development efforts while enforcing SDLC standards and best practices
- Balance strategic vision with attention to operational detail
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement end-to-end client solutions
- Design and deploy scalable AWS-based architectures prioritizing reliability, security, and cost performance
- Develop and manage observability stacks using AWS tools like CloudWatch, X-Ray, and Config, as well as third-party platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, and OpenTelemetry
- Coordinate with 24x7 operations and incident response teams to define essential monitoring data and metrics
- Help create automated runbooks triggered by defined monitoring conditions within observability systems
- Collaborate with CloudOps to minimize alert noise and resolve underlying system issues
- Work alongside DevOps and security teams to integrate resilience, protection, and cost controls into system designs
- Mentor colleagues through coaching, knowledge sharing, and skill development
- Lead modernization projects involving re-platforming and refactoring legacy systems
- Break down work for team members of all experience levels by defining user stories and tasks
- Contribute to internal intellectual property and open-source initiatives
- Engage in Agile or alternative delivery methodologies as part of project execution
- Develop relationships with technology vendors and strategic partners
- Interact directly with clients on technical planning, decision-making, and educational sessions
- Stay current with evolving AWS capabilities and industry best practices through continuous learning
- Serve as a technical leader through presentations, guidance, and project ownership
- Conduct code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and engage in pair programming when appropriate
