Responsibilities
- Examine and assess medical records to maintain clinical precision within required timeframes
- Detect areas for enhancement in clinical documentation and diagnostic models
- Comprehend and implement coding standards and regulations to correctly assign codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Engage in continuous education and skill development to remain updated on documentation and coding practices
- Support process improvement initiatives to refine documentation methods and promote effective healthcare delivery
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in healthcare, ideally in a clinical environment and a clinical documentation or coding role
- Practical knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and healthcare documentation standards
- Bachelor's degree in health information management, nursing, or a related medical field
Nice to Have
- Professional certification such as Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is advantageous but not mandatory
