Responsibilities
- Cleans classrooms, offices, washrooms, hallways, and other surfaces by: - wet mopping; - washing, scrubbing; - stripping, seal waxing and polishing floors; - removing stains on carpeting and performing shampoo procedures when required; - vacuuming, dusting.
- Maintains furniture and equipment in an orderly, clean and safe manner.
- Maintains building security.
- Maintains a stock of janitorial supplies for assigned area.
- Removes snow from steps and walkways.
- Maintains current skillset by attending instructional courses provided by the College.
- Performs other duties related as required.
Requirements
- Completion Secondary School (Grade 10)
- Custodial Worker certificate
- Over 6 months and up to and including 1 year related experience
- Skilled in the safe use of related equipment and cleaning materials
- Must maintain furniture and equipment in an orderly and clean manner
- Able to perform work of a routine nature with minimal or no direct supervision
- May be required to handle hazardous materials from time to time (the College will provide training)
- Must have ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships and exercise courtesy
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties

- Schedule: Monday to Friday; 4:30PM - 12:00AM - Shifts may vary based on operational need.
- Shortlisted internal candidates must notify the current Support Staff Bargaining Chairperson and People Services if they want a Union Observer during interviews and final selection of candidates.
