Dexterra Group is hiring a Class 1 Driver

WHAT’S THE JOB? Join our Dexterra Remote Services team, where our people provide quality service to our customers by coordinating the safe, reliable and on-schedule transportation of modular buildings, matting, equipment, and other oilfield and mining related supplies across western Canada. As a Class 1 Driver, reporting to the Manager, Operations, you will transport equipment across Western Canada. This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Your work will include: - Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, and compliance with applicable acts and regulations. - Operate various trucks over outdoor terrain and through all weather conditions. - Attend pre-job Safety meetings; ensure safety and emergency equipment is in good working order; and accurately complete all required forms. - Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues. - Consult with supervisor and crew regarding any operational deficiencies. - Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, and occupational health and safety. - Maintain daily logs, inspection logs and other necessary paperwork.
