Responsibilities
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, and compliance with applicable acts and regulations.
- Operate various trucks over outdoor terrain and through all weather conditions.
- Attend pre-job Safety meetings; ensure safety and emergency equipment is in good working order; and accurately complete all required forms.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues.
- Consult with supervisor and crew regarding any operational deficiencies.
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, and occupational health and safety.
- Maintain daily logs, inspection logs and other necessary paperwork.
Requirements
- Class 1 Driver license
- Ability to operate various trucks over outdoor terrain and through all weather conditions
- Compliance with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, and occupational health and safety
- Attendance at pre-job Safety meetings
- Maintenance of daily logs, inspection logs, and other necessary paperwork
- Effective communication with colleagues
- Consultation with supervisor and crew regarding operational deficiencies
- Drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment (due to safety-sensitive role)
