About the Role
This role involves applying civil engineering principles to water resources challenges in energy-related developments, including planning, modeling, and permitting activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for energy infrastructure projects
- Prepare engineering designs and construction documentation
- Support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance efforts
- Perform stormwater management planning and design
- Develop watershed and drainage master plans
- Use modeling software to simulate water flow and flood risks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Review site plans for adherence to water resource standards
- Evaluate impacts of energy projects on water systems
- Assist in preparing technical reports and studies
- Participate in field investigations and site assessments
- Coordinate with public agencies on water-related approvals
- Design erosion and sediment control measures
- Support dam safety and levee evaluation projects
- Apply federal, state, and local water regulations
- Develop stormwater pollution prevention plans
- Contribute to civil design aspects of energy facilities
- Perform floodplain analysis and mapping
- Assist with water supply and conveyance systems
- Review project proposals for water resource feasibility
- Utilize GIS and CAD tools for spatial analysis
- Engage in client meetings and project coordination
- Support emergency response planning for water incidents
- Evaluate climate resilience in water infrastructure
- Contribute to sustainable water management strategies

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience
- Active Professional Engineer license
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering or related field
- Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or similar modeling tools
- Project experience in the energy sector
- Additional state PE licenses
