ProSidian Consulting, LLC is hiring a Civil Engineer - Transportation Engineering (FTA4)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in program meetings to propose alternative solutions and assist in resolving project challenges.
  • Conduct field inspections and assess best practices in fleet management operations.
  • Coordinate geotechnical and related services to deliver client reports on schedule.
  • Work independently to set priorities and complete tasks accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Verify compliance with established procedures and monitor safety protocols during project execution.
  • Review design and field engineering changes during construction, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Investigate construction defects or structural failures to determine root causes and contributing factors.
  • Support the development of innovative strategies to enhance project capacity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with land use regulations throughout project planning and implementation.
  • Support stakeholders in developing construction bid documents, roadway design reports, cost estimates, and specifications while coordinating with clients.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and work review for junior engineering staff.
  • Meet deadlines set by FTA management and deliver timely updates in response to internal and external information requests.
  • Support monitoring operations through site visits and conduct in-depth analysis of complex issues as required.
  • Carry out forensic engineering assignments within civil and structural disciplines based on pre-approved scopes and budgets.
  • Conduct construction and rehabilitation inspections and coordinate site visit logistics after award.
  • Support pre-award activities with site visits, identify discrepancies between proposed and actual recipient needs, and recommend timely interventions.
  • Prepare detailed written reports on the causes and origins of construction defects or structural failures.
  • Offer guidance and support related to grant management processes and requirements.
  • Deliver ongoing engineering support for rail, ferry, and bus transit systems to the Puerto Rico FTA office.
  • Deliver clear, concise technical assistance to recipients via meetings, calls, and written communication.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries from FTA staff, recipients, and the public.
  • Ensure understanding of FTA objectives and assist recipients in complying with program policies and requirements.
  • Deliver forensic and consulting services in civil/structural engineering for insurance, legal, and industrial clients under senior supervision.
  • Present findings through oral and written reports and provide expert testimony when required.
  • Evaluate recipient organizations' technical capabilities by reviewing management structures, project definitions, and organizational readiness for federal projects.
