About the Role

This role involves performing engineering analysis and design for geotechnical systems and tunneling projects, supporting the development of safe and efficient underground infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and site assessments
  • Analyze soil and rock properties for engineering design
  • Design foundations, slopes, and earth-retaining structures
  • Evaluate subsurface conditions using borehole data
  • Perform numerical modeling of ground behavior
  • Support tunnel alignment and excavation method selection
  • Prepare technical specifications for construction
  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
  • Develop construction monitoring plans
  • Assess risks related to ground stability
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Produce engineering calculations and design documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Conduct field observations during construction
  • Troubleshoot geotechnical issues in real time
  • Support emergency response for ground-related incidents
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling
  • Review geotechnical reports from third parties
  • Advise on dewatering and excavation support systems
  • Evaluate seismic impacts on underground structures
  • Contribute to environmental review documentation
  • Assist in cost estimation for earthwork activities
  • Apply sustainable design principles to earthworks
  • Use software for geotechnical modeling and analysis
  • Present findings to clients and stakeholders
