About the Role
The CISO will lead cybersecurity strategy and operations, ensuring protection of digital assets and data amid rapid growth and evolving threats, while aligning with business objectives and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute a unified information security strategy that supports business goals.
- Lead and develop the Information Security team through mentorship, direction, and performance support.
- Strengthen the product security program by embedding secure development practices across the software lifecycle.
- Direct audit readiness and certification efforts for SOC2, ISO 27001, and other compliance standards required by regulated industries.
- Lead end-to-end incident management, including detection, response, recovery, communication, and post-event remediation prioritization.
- Continuously assess cybersecurity threats and enforce risk-reducing controls and safeguards.
- Ensure adherence to applicable security laws, regulations, and standards, and interface with regulators when necessary.
- Foster organization-wide security awareness and promote secure behaviors across all levels.
- Oversee the selection, deployment, and management of security technologies and operational practices.
- Engage with senior technical and cybersecurity leaders at key customer organizations to demonstrate strong security governance.
- Evaluate and manage security risks associated with third-party vendors and partnerships.
- Optimize allocation of personnel, budget, and tools to advance security objectives.
- Report on security program performance and strategic needs to executive leadership, clearly articulating risk trade-offs.

About the Position
CISO is a critical role for Energy Exemplar to protect and safeguard organization’s digital assets, employee and customer data in today’s evolving threat landscape. The CISO will handle cybersecurity threats, respond to incidents, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements while contributing to EE’s overall strategic objectives and resilience. Cyber is one of the top operational risks for Energy Exemplar as we have had a rapid growth in our head count, and expanded our SaaS and Product offering organically and through acquisitions. This role will ensure that Energy Exemplar will have the appropriate leadership with known skillsets, expertise, and experience to manage those risks across the organization
