Valbin XCTC is seeking a professional Chinese Interpreter/Translator to provide high-quality translation and interpretation services for a government customer. You will ensure accurate communication between Chinese and English across a variety of contexts.
What You'll Do
- Provide accurate translations, free of errors in grammar, spelling, or content.
- Provide simultaneous and one-way interpretation services.
- Interpret for meeting types including General Meetings, Hearings, Panels, Digital Video Conferences (DVC), and conference calls.
- Handle interpretation sessions ranging from 1-5 hours to up to 12 hours per day.
- Translate documents ranging from General, Semi-Technical, to Technical levels.
- Translate various document types including general agreements, complex legal documents, and highly technical documents.
- Handle translation types including formal, un-reviewed, comparison, summary, and other special requests.
- Accurately translate ambiguous terms, subtitles, and nuances in the target language.
- Proofread all completed documents, including legally binding translations.
- Occasionally travel for on-site interpretation within the Continental United States (CONUS).
What We're Looking For
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and residing within the U.S.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have 3+ Years of professional translating experience.
- Must have 5+ Years of professional interpreting experience.
- Must be certified by a professional organization (e.g., ATA, IACI, NAJIT).
- Must be able to pass a government-issued Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
