Housing Matters is hiring a Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Executive Team, offering financial expertise and strategic guidance for organization-wide planning and decisions.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team to direct annual budgeting and planning, track performance, and provide leadership with a clear, timely view of the organization's financial status.
  • Supervise financial, project, program, and grants accounting, ensuring precise and prompt internal and external financial reports.
  • Direct the annual audit process, working with external auditors and the Board's Audit Committee, and implement required enhancements.
  • Handle organizational cash flow and forecasting, and act as the main contact for banking relationships.
  • Develop and sustain robust financial, contract management, billing, collection, and reporting systems that meet operational needs and ensure steady cash flow.
  • Enhance accounting policies, practices, internal controls, and finance department procedures to support an efficient and scalable financial operation.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and help the organization proactively manage financial risks.
  • Act as staff liaison to the Board of Directors' Finance and Administration Committee, effectively communicating key financial matters to board leadership.
  • Deliver financial reports and insights for donor audiences and other important stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering an environment of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in strategic planning to help Housing Matters stay responsive to the evolving housing-as-healthcare landscape.
