Obsidian Systems is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy and planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning for consulting and product business lines.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings and reporting requirements across all entities and jurisdictions.
• Oversee financial reporting and controls for a growing entity structure, including a Puerto Rico entity, and support expansion into London and Asia Pacific.
• Manage accounting, tax treatment, and treasury implications for consulting contracts paid in digital assets.
• Support sales and delivery teams by meeting financial diligence expectations of large institutional clients, such as insurance requirements, security standards, and financial performance disclosures.
• Build or rebuild financial infrastructure, including close processes, controls, and reporting cadence.
• Manage and develop a small finance team, currently consisting of a controller and a bookkeeper, with plans to expand as needed.
• Own the fiscal year-end close process and ensure audit readiness as reporting requirements increase.
• Provide clear, digestible financial reporting to founders and other stakeholders as needed.
