Together, they strive to fulfill the mission and vision for the community and workforce. The Board delegates management and operational responsibilities to the CEO, who possesses the authority to execute these duties in alignment with established board guidelines. The CEO provides essential expertise, knowledge, and resources to support the Board's governance functions. Duties and Responsibilities: Legal compliance - Ensures comprehensive adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates knowledge of local governing regulations, statutes, and bylaws affecting district operations. Initiates and implements organization-wide policies Mission, policy and planning - Collaborates with the Board to establish organizational values, mission, vision, strategic plan and goals. - Maintains comprehensive Board awareness regarding facility status and influential factors. - Identifies and addresses potential problems and opportunities, escalating appropriate matters to the Board. - Informs Board and committees about emerging trends, challenges, and activities to facilitate policy development. - Recommends policy positions and maintains professional awareness of healthcare services, non-profit management, governance, philanthropy, and fund development. Management and administration - Provides comprehensive oversight of all organizational activities, managing daily operations and ensuring efficient functionality. - Strategically plans, organizes, develops, and implements operational goals, objectives, policies, and procedures supporting quality care and financial stability. - Ensures program quality and organizational stability through systematic standards, controls, policies, and regular evaluations. - Represents the organization in professional associations, informing leadership about healthcare policy changes, governmental regulations, legislation, and reimbursement issues. - Responsible for developing, motivating, and leading senior management in recruiting and maintaining high-quality healthcare personnel. - Complies with all established employee handbook policies. Governance - Assists the Board in defining its role and accountability. - Collaborates with Board leadership to optimize governance performance. - Facilitates due diligence processes ensuring timely attention to critical issues. Finance - Promotes cost-effective programs maintaining high-quality standards. - Oversees organizational fiscal activities including budgeting, reporting, and auditing. - Collaborates with Board to secure financing supporting strategic goals. - Presents quarterly executive financial summaries with recommendations for balanced budgetary achievement. Community Relations - Promotes positive organizational image through active community engagement. - Integrates organization into community fabric using effective marketing and communication strategies. - Serves as primary spokesperson and advocate across public and private sectors. - Actively listens to stakeholders to improve services and generate community involvement. - Collaborates with legislators and regulatory agencies to promote community health policies. Work Experience, Education, and Certifications: - Minimum three years healthcare management experience, preferably with Critical Access Hospital knowledge. - Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or related field. - Comprehensive understanding of current reimbursement trends and payment systems.
