About the Role
This role involves guiding job seekers with disabilities through career exploration, skill development, and job placement. The coach builds individualized plans, connects clients with resources, and collaborates with employers and service providers to support successful workforce integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one coaching to individuals with physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities
- Assess client strengths, interests, and employment goals
- Develop customized career development plans
- Facilitate workshops on resume writing, interview techniques, and workplace etiquette
- Build relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities
- Support clients during job application and onboarding processes
- Coordinate with vocational rehabilitation agencies and community partners
- Monitor client progress and adjust coaching strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and outcomes
- Advocate for inclusive hiring practices with employer partners
- Connect clients with training programs and educational resources
- Assist with job retention and career advancement strategies
- Deliver presentations to community organizations about employment services
- Stay current on labor market trends and disability employment policies
- Promote accessibility and accommodations in workplace settings
- Support clients in disclosing disabilities and requesting workplace adjustments
- Encourage self-advocacy and confidence in professional environments
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
- Contribute to program evaluation and reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality and data privacy standards
