Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end engineering deliverables for cable systems, spanning feasibility, conceptual design, detailed design, and support during installation and commissioning phases
- Evaluate advanced HVAC and HVDC cable system designs, covering route planning, burial risk evaluation, and thermal, electromagnetic, and mechanical performance
- Perform system-level studies such as cable ampacity, short circuit force analysis, thermal stability, and electromagnetic interference assessments
- Conduct engineering analyses for cable pulling, jointing, cleating, and installation feasibility
- Coordinate with civil, structural, substation, and overhead line teams to deliver cohesive, integrated designs
- Lead third-party inspection efforts and provide technical support during factory and site acceptance testing, installation, and commissioning
- Engage with manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure designs meet IEC, CIGRÉ, National Grid Technical Prescriptions, and other international standards
- Take part in client engagements, technical workshops, hazard identification studies, and cross-disciplinary coordination sessions
