Responsibilities
- Guide, coach, and grow a team of business development professionals to consistently achieve or surpass sales goals and key performance indicators.
- Deliver ongoing, real-time feedback and share proven techniques to strengthen team members' sales abilities and strategic thinking.
- Hold routine individual check-ins, performance evaluations, and team meetings to solve problems, recognize achievements, and define growth targets.
- Design and implement training initiatives that enhance skills in lead generation, sales execution, and product expertise.
- Cultivate a motivated, high-achieving team culture built on collaboration, personal accountability, and positive engagement.
- Manage a personal pipeline of strategic prospects through proactive outreach, including cold calling, email campaigns, and lead qualification.
- Perform direct cold outreach using calls, emails, and LinkedIn to generate qualified leads, modeling effective activity and performance for the team.
- Strategically prospect into assigned accounts to prioritize and target the most promising opportunities.
- Apply deep knowledge of sales methodologies, lead handling, and value-based selling to support team members in closing complex deals.
- Create and deploy business development plans that support broader company objectives.
- Spot improvement areas within the business development function and lead initiatives to address them.
- Partner with business development leadership to establish sales quotas, development goals, and performance standards.
- Coordinate with sales, operations, and enablement teams to ensure effective tools, messaging, and outreach materials are in place.
- Share insights with leadership and cross-functional partners on business development trends, team outcomes, and campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior leaders on major opportunities, contributing to strategic discussions that strengthen the function.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on both individual and team performance metrics to ensure KPI alignment and goal attainment.
- Maintain precise records of sales actions, deals, and client progress using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Evaluate sales metrics to refine workflows and uncover opportunities for operational improvements.
