GM do Brasil Ltda is seeking a Body Structure Engineer to join our team developing next-generation vehicle body structures. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering on our vision for a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion. You will be based in either São Caetano do Sul or Indaiatuba/SP.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with design teams to develop body structures that meet safety, performance, and aesthetic requirements.
- Construct and follow up on Multifunction Component Timing Charts to guarantee on-track product development and execution.
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve product quality and procedures.
- Resolve highly complex technical issues and conduct advanced research.
- Interact with the Manufacturing team to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for body assembly, including welding, stamping, and joining techniques.
- Ensure product designs meet requirements for efficient process, production, and quality control.
- Implement quality assurance protocols to ensure body structures meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving for any quality issues that arise during production.
- Coordinate requirements and design reviews with suppliers, e.g., DFMEA, DRBFM, Peer Reviews.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for body components to optimize weight, cost, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding material and process specifications.
- Analyze test results and make recommendations for design improvements.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Automotive, Production, or Automation.
- Proficiency in knowledge of stamping components, metallic materials properties, and an understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Advanced or fluent English skills (write, speak, listen).
- An active driver's license (this position requires you to be able to legally operate a motor vehicle).
- Active CREA registration.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking to address engineering challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.

This position offers a hybrid work model and is based in either São Caetano do Sul or Indaiatuba/SP.
