Illumina is hiring a Bioinformatics Sales Specialist for the Mediterranean Subregion. In this field-based role, you will drive the adoption of Illumina's informatics solutions across Spain, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia, Malta, Cyprus, and Greece. Your scientific expertise will support research and clinical customers in optimizing their NGS data analysis workflows.
What You'll Do
- Guide customers in evaluating and implementing Illumina’s informatics platforms.
- Support data analysis workflows in both research and clinical settings.
- Provide expert guidance on hardware, software, and integration for NGS and array-based applications.
- Influence purchasing decisions through scientific insight and stakeholder engagement.
- Deliver product demonstrations and pilot analyses to showcase informatics solutions.
- Collaborate with Field Application Scientists for seamless pre- and post-sales support.
- Develop and deliver seminars and hands-on training on bioinformatics topics.
- Coach internal teams and colleagues on workflows and best practices.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback to product development and marketing teams.
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in bioinformatics, ideally an MSc or PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with NGS data formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF), variant calling, annotation, and reporting.
- Understanding of bioinformatics workflows and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and data security (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Fluent in English and either Spanish or Italian.
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial mindset and a genuine interest in supporting customer success.
Nice to Have
- Fluency in both Spanish and Italian.
