Responsibilities
- Design and develop native bare-* modules from start to finish, including implementation and testing
- Create C-based native addons that connect platform-specific APIs with JavaScript
- Update and expand existing native modules based on internal requests and compatibility requirements
- Configure and manage cross-platform builds for macOS, Linux, Android (using NDK), and iOS (using Xcode)
- Manage toolchain setups for cross-compilation across target platforms
- Ensure CI pipelines reliably build and test native modules on all supported operating systems
- Diagnose and resolve build issues specific to individual platforms or toolchains
- Contribute to core components of the Bare runtime, such as the module and addon systems and lightweight threading
- Assist in closing gaps in node compatibility within the bare environment
- Help assess and integrate alternative JavaScript engines like libjerry
- Troubleshoot native addon problems across various operating systems and devices, including mobile platforms
- Develop and sustain comprehensive test suites for all native modules
- Respond to technical inquiries about Bare from internal teams and external users
- Document progress, challenges, and technical decisions clearly in written form
- Attend and contribute to weekly team status meetings
- Join Bare workshops and support the creation of onboarding resources
- Collaborate with product teams including Keet, WDK, and Wallet on integration and feature needs
