Woolpert is hiring an Aviation Design Intern - Expression of Interest

Responsibilities

  • Help create airfield design plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  • Carry out engineering computations, design evaluations, and draft technical reports under the guidance of a licensed engineer.
  • Support the creation of construction drawings, budget projections, and designs that meet FAA regulations.
  • Join site visits and inspections to monitor active construction and ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects within defined scope, timeline, and financial constraints.
  • Assist in initial planning and conceptual design for runways, taxiways, and other airport facilities.
  • Evaluate technical data, apply conventional engineering methods, and detect inconsistencies in findings.
  • Keep project records organized and maintained according to FAA and local government standards.
  • Take part in quality assurance activities and help resolve technical challenges during design or construction.
