About the Role
The technician will support environmental facilitation services by managing audiovisual equipment setup, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high-quality presentation delivery during meetings and events.
Responsibilities
- Set up and configure audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations
- Operate sound and video systems during live events
- Conduct routine inspections of technical equipment
- Troubleshoot technical problems during events
- Ensure all AV components function properly before sessions begin
- Collaborate with event coordinators to understand technical needs
- Maintain inventory of audiovisual hardware and accessories
- Transport equipment to and from event locations
- Assemble and disassemble presentation setups efficiently
- Monitor audio levels and video quality during events
- Provide on-site technical support during meetings
- Follow safety protocols when handling electrical equipment
- Adapt setups for different room configurations
- Test microphones, projectors, and playback devices prior to use
- Assist presenters with using AV controls
- Document equipment issues and resolution steps
- Ensure cables and connections are secure and organized
- Support hybrid meeting formats with remote participants
- Maintain clean and professional appearance of technical setups
- Respond quickly to unexpected technical failures
- Follow manufacturer guidelines for equipment use
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures for AV use
- Coordinate with venue staff regarding technical requirements
- Ensure compliance with environmental safety standards
- Retire equipment safely after event conclusion
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience

On-site with occasional travel to client locations

- Frequent lifting and carrying of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Standing for extended periods during event setups and operations
- Climbing ladders or using lifts for overhead installations
- Bending, reaching, and kneeling during equipment placement
- Walking across varied terrain at outdoor or industrial sites
Work Environment
- Work performed in indoor meeting spaces and outdoor environmental sites
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Occasional exposure to loud sound levels during testing
- Work during non-standard business hours including early mornings
- Travel to multiple client locations within a regional area
