About the Role
This position supports engineering projects related to water conveyance and storage for municipal clients, involving design, analysis, and field work under the guidance of senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of water pipelines and storage facilities
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and system analysis
- Support field investigations and site assessments
- Prepare engineering drawings and construction documents
- Collaborate with project teams on technical deliverables
- Perform calculations for pipe sizing and pressure management
- Review project specifications and technical standards
- Gather and analyze field data for system improvements
- Participate in client meetings and project coordination
- Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance documentation
- Develop construction cost estimates
- Use engineering software for modeling water networks
- Support asset management planning for water systems
- Review as-built drawings and record system updates
- Contribute to emergency response planning for water infrastructure
- Work with GIS tools to map water system components
- Assist in evaluating water quality monitoring needs
- Coordinate with contractors during construction phases
- Help prepare operations and maintenance manuals
- Stay current with industry practices and technical advancements
Nice to Have
- Experience with EPANET or similar modeling tools
- Internship or co-op experience in water engineering
- Exposure to municipal infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of asset management frameworks
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for drinking water systems
- Experience preparing bid documents
- Understanding of pump station design basics
- Coursework in fluid mechanics or hydrology
