California Independent System Operator (California ISO) is hiring an Associate EMS Power Technology Engineer (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

  • Supports proactive improvements, system upgrades, and resolution of issues affecting real-time power system applications, including PI and Synchro-Phasor systems.
  • Engages in enhancements, process optimizations, and troubleshooting for the Full Network Model’s development and deployment workflows.
  • Works to enhance EMS reliability and reduce downtime through preventive maintenance and failure mitigation.
  • Helps resolve technical disruptions caused by data transmission errors, hardware malfunctions, or system outages.
  • Provides ongoing technical assistance to real-time operations teams and internal departments for EMS, PI, and Synchro-Phasor platforms.
  • Implements updates in PI Vision, aligns configurations across environments, manages performance equation modifications, supports AF database operations, handles application updates, and maintains related documentation.
  • Supports identification and resolution of problems involving geospatial data and external data sources.
  • Contributes to the design and rollout of new features within relevant operational applications.
