AECOM is hiring an Associate Director- Environmental Impact Assessment

About the Role

This position leads the planning and execution of environmental impact assessments for complex infrastructure developments, providing technical oversight and managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, high-quality documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and management of environmental impact statements and related documentation
  • Oversee technical teams in conducting environmental baseline studies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during review and approval processes
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables for environmental studies
  • Provide technical guidance on ecological, cultural, and water resources assessments
  • Review environmental reports for accuracy, completeness, and quality
  • Develop and implement environmental mitigation strategies
  • Support project development through environmental due diligence
  • Lead public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Prepare presentations for clients and regulatory bodies
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation and policy
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development
  • Conduct field investigations as needed for project validation
  • Integrate sustainability principles into environmental planning
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to align project goals
  • Identify potential environmental risks and recommend solutions
  • Manage subcontractors and external consultants
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and control procedures
  • Support business development through proposal writing and client meetings
  • Travel to project sites and client offices as required
  • Participate in technical peer reviews
  • Maintain professional affiliations and certifications
  • Promote health and safety standards on all projects
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives
